On Thursday 28th of June, Spelen voor de Grap is back! This event provides a stage for young, upcoming musicians in Amsterdam presented by GRAP Amsterdam. The artists of the evening will be FOSS, Sam Solo and Lèlèman & Thierry Ganz.
FOSS are known for their voluptuous guitar lines and loads of synthesizers that come together in dreamy indie pop songs. The catchy hooks and flowing vocal lines remind you of The xx, Beach House & Little Dragon. At the moment they are working on their debut EP that will be released in the autumn of 2018.
With his west-coast guitar riffs and voice, he lets every mother in the audience say out loud: ‘he reminds me of Lou Reed’. Sam Solo and his band (Anne C. on Hammond X5 and Dan H. on drums) give you a show to dance, cry and love.
Lèlèman en Thierry Ganz
Thierry Ganz grew up in Paramaribo and Lèlèman in Bonaire. Separately from each other they developed a passion for art, dance and culture. In Amsterdam the two met each other and this led not only to a friendship, but also to a cooperation. The duo began to write and produce music together in which soul, hip hop and grooves are combined with their Caribbean roots. In 2017 this resulted in the EP Why which consists of smooth synths, groovy basslines, heavy percussion and songs inspired by a life in the Netherlands.
