Record Store Day Afterparty
Line-up: Iguana Death Cult, St. Tropez, Price
Record Store Day: the day that brings together fans and artists across the world to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store. Once again, Sugarfactory will host the official afterparty in collaboration with Concerto Recordstore and Record Store Day. A night filled with live music, a small label market with stands of local labels and DJs.
Iguana Death Cult
Welcome danger, welcome debauchery and welcome Death. And please, be at ease. ‘Cause Rotterdam’s Iguana Death Cult doesn’t perceive the three of you as outcasts or misfits. In the hex of their dynamo-like garage wallop, you belong. Because Iguana Death Cult doesn’t play by reality’s rules. Their racket is both fierce and hook-heavy, bending the psyche into submission until the scenery warps into something akin to that famous lizard scene in Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas.

St. Tropez are four guys making yacht punk by the canals of Amsterdam. In August 2016 they released their debut album St. Tropez, to critical acclaim by music blogs like Clash, NME and DIY. In February of 2017, St. Tropez released their politically engaged ‘Debate’ Ep and in May 2018, St. Tropez will release their second album.

The Groningen-based four-piece Price always tries to push up against the limits. The new band, founded by Marnix Visscher (Korfbal), is almost like a whirlwind of garage and kraut that rages over an idyllic landscape of psychedelic folk. It all comes together in interdimensional, schizophrenic songs.
